Dr. Maya Kornberg is a political scientist and Senior Research Fellow at the nonpartisan Brennan Center for Justice at NYU Law, where she leads work on how to make government more effective and accountable. 

Kornberg’s research has appeared in the Washington Post, NPR, CSPAN, Newsweek, the Hill, the New York Times, and Bloomberg News, among others. 

A self-described “pragmatic progressive” from Park Slope, her campaign will prioritize tackling local issues such as expanding accessible local transit, opening more childcare centers, building more affordable housing, and standing up against violence, vandalism, and all manifestations of bigotry and hate.  

As a reflection of her academic work and think tank research, Konberg is committed to monthly town halls with constituents and a district office open and available at all hours, all days.
